A native of central Pennsylvania, Michelle has been working with wood since high school. She originally fell in love with woodworking because she could sing in the shop and not be heard by anyone. Along with that perk, she also loves working with her hands and expressing herself through her work.
After earning her B.S. in Wood Products from Pennsylvania State University, she attended the nine-month program at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Maine. Her work received national acclaim in the 2011 juried exhibit of “Fine Woodworkers Under 30,” and she has also shown her work at Craft Boston and Lie-Nielsen’s Open House Furniture Show.
Michelle joined our staff in 2011 and then moved to New York to start her own custom-furniture company, Myers Woodworking. Along with woodworking, she enjoys eating, working out, playing kickball, climbing, and exploring the New York City area.
