Shaker Benchwith Chris Becksvoort

This workshop is a great exercise in basic wood preparation and hand tool joinery. Chris will teach you how to make this Shaker Bench using only hand tools. Come learn the tricks of the trade from a master craftsman.
About the Instructor
Chris Becksvoort is a renowned fine furniture maker, teacher, and has been a contributing editor for Fine Woodworking Magazine for over 20 years. Chris is author of In Harmony with Wood, The Shaker Legacy, and recently produced the DVD, "A Craftsman's Guide to Understanding Wood" with Lie-Nielsen. With over 40 years of experience, Chris designs and builds heirloom quality pieces in his shop in New Gloucester, Maine.
Below are the tools we'll learn about in the class. You are not required to bring all of them; we will provide demonstration tools for you to use. However, it is helpful for you to practice with your own tools, so bring as many of these as you'd like. You may also make purchases in our showroom on site.
Please do not bring tools in need of repair or major fettling – there will not be time to fully tune them for use during the workshop.

Cost is $250, lunch included. Limited to 15 people. There is a $30 material fee for this class.
