For the first time in seven years, our Hand Tool Event® is coming back to the Chicago School of Woodworking!

Come try our woodworking hand tools, participate in demonstrations, and learn tips from our staff.

We will be at 5680 N Northwest Hwy in Chicago, Illinois.

There is plenty of street parking, easy access to I-90, I-94, Metra and Blue Line trains, and indoor bicycle parking.

The Chicago School of Woodworking was established in 2007 to train students in the art of furniture making. Since then, their program has expanded to include turning, scroll saw, marquetry, and cabinet making.

They are committed to providing students the knowledge and skills to create functional and beautiful furniture that can be enjoyed for generations.

Guest Demonstrators


Dan Schwank founded Red Rose Reproductions in 2014 to bring resurrected woodworking tools to the market. He focuses primarily on molding planes patterned off mid-18th century British designs, and teaches classes on making hollow and round planes in his shop in Sterling, Illinois.


J. Miller Handcrafted Furniture
Jeff Miller is a furniture designer, craftsman, teacher, and author of woodworking books and articles. Jeff's furniture has been shown in galleries and shows nationwide, and has won numerous awards. His furniture is in the Decorative Arts Collection of the Chicago History Museum.


Society of American Period Furniture Makers - Rock River Valley Chapter
SAPFM is a volunteer run, non-profit organization that has been providing education in fine furniture making for over 20 years. They connect furniture makers with resources and specialized expertise in period furniture and support 22 local chapters all over the country.
