Palomar College Cabinet and Furniture Making Technology program was founded in 1956.
Since then, it has built up a comprehensive woodworking curriculum with three fully equipped shops and a wide range courses such as: Furniture Design, Timber Framing, Guitar Building, and Production Cabinetmaking.
Their students are dedicated to mastering the skills of traditional and contemporary fine woodworking.
Patrick Edwards is a marquetry expert and conservationist. He restores antique furniture through his company Antique Refinishers and founded the American School of French Marquetry. He will be demonstrating chevalet usage and glue-making during the event.
Russ Filbeck is a master chair maker, in addition to being an educator and writer. He offers classes on chair-making and has previously taught at Palomar. His book, "Making Ladder Back Chairs," is available through his website.
