Jojoba Extract

Keep your tools rust-free with this non-toxic, odorless, liquid wax made from the seed of the Jojoba plant, Simmondsia chinensis, a desert shrub native to the American southwest.

While commonly referred to as an oil, Jojoba extract is a botanically unique and chemically distinct wax ester. Unlike oil derived from vegetables, its low levels of triglycerides inhibit oxidation, making it remarkably shelf-stable and heat resistant.

When we first started using Jojoba in our shop in the early 2000s, its mainstream use was in the cosmetics industry as a moisturizing ingredient. We discovered that it is excellent for protecting tools and blades from rust, too! A few sprays on a microfiber cloth is all you need to wipe down your tools with a protective coating. It will not interfere with finishes or gluing.

Can also be used as a moisturizer to relieve sunburns. A little goes a long way.
